Kareena Kapoor Khan whose film The Buckingham Murders opened the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023 on Friday night, saw the stylish diva walk the red carpet in a black knotted dress designed by renowned fashion designer Rajesh Pratap Singh. The film was screened at the Grand Theatre at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Convention Centre in Mumbai.
Known for her love for kaftans, the top half of the silhouette gave the illusion of a kaftan. Rajesh’s signature knotted pattern added drama to the otherwise subtle look. Kareena added a pop of pink to her look to break from the monochromatic palette. The rani pink sleeves, a new shade of pop in Rajesh Pratap Singh’s colour wheel, have been a favourite hue in most of his recent designs.
Kareena was styled by celebrity stylist Lakshmi Mehr who has been the strong force behind her iconic looks. Celebrity makeup artist Mickey Contractor definitely waved his magic brush at Kareena making her look dewy and fresh. Complementing the minimal makeup was the clean and slick hairstyle done by celebrity hair expert Mike Desir. Celebrating Kareena’s style was photographer Sheldon Santos, who captured the diva in three beautiful frames, which Kareena posted on her Instagram.
Excited to open the film festival, Kareena captioned the picture, which read as, “The Buckingham Murders, premiering tonight at the @mumbaifilmfestival Let’s gooo @ektarkapoor @hansalmehta.
At the premiere Kareena was joined by her cast and crew, including producer Ekta Kapoor and filmmaker Hansal Mehta. The opening ceremony also saw Saif Ali Khan and Karisma Kapoor, who came to support Kareena. Karsima Kapoor looked stunning in Abraham & Thakore’s morse code saree from their collection Body Language, and Saif Ali Khan looked dapper in an off-white bandhgala paired with a white kurta set.
