Shan, Babar star on day one of Test scenario match


The ongoing training camp for the National Test squad, preparing for the anticipated Australia test tour, saw the conclusion of day one of the scenario match at Pindi Stadium on Saturday.

In a bid to gear up for the upcoming challenging series, the two-day scenario match provided crucial practice and insights for the Pakistan cricketers. The match served as a significant component of the training regimen, aimed at fine-tuning strategies and assessing player form ahead of the rigorous Australia tour.

The match witnessed a remarkable display of skills from the Pakistan batters, accumulating a total of 298 runs. Saim Ayub contributed with 35 runs while Abdullah Shafique managed to score 3 runs before departing from the crease. 

Notably, Test skipper Shan Masood showcased his form by reaching a commendable 101, whereas former skipper Babar Azam secured 71 runs before retiring out.

As the day concluded, Saud Shakeel stood firm at the crease with 44 runs, while Sarfaraz Ahmed supported the innings with 19 runs. Additionally, Khurram Shahzad and Amir Jamal made notable contributions, claiming one wicket each during the match.

1st Test – Australia vs Pakistan – December 14-18: Perth Stadium

3rd Test – Australia vs Pakistan – January 3-7: Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG)
