Scientific analysis has debunked the mystery surrounding two “alien mummies” discovered at Lima airport in Peru last October, Reuters reported.
Experts at a press conference in Lima clarified that the small specimens are humanoid dolls likely crafted from a combination of human and animal parts, joined together with modern synthetic glue.
Flavio Estrada, an archaeologist with Peru’s Institute for Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, categorically stated, “They’re not extraterrestrials. They’re dolls made from animal bones from this planet.”
The figurines, found in a cardboard box at the DHL offices in Lima, were made to resemble mummified bodies dressed in traditional Andean attire. Despite media speculation about possible alien origins, the scientific analysis revealed a terrestrial and artificial origin for the mysterious artefacts.
Previously, in September, another set of tiny mummified bodies with elongated heads and three-fingered hands were showcased in a Mexican congressional hearing, generating extensive media coverage.
However, experts dismissed those bodies as likely a fraud, potentially involving ancient human mummies combined with animal parts. The recent press conference in Lima, organised by Peru’s culture ministry, emphasised that the dolls found at the airport were not directly related to the bodies presented in Mexico.
The conclusive message from experts is that neither set of remains is extraterrestrial.
