CLAT 2024 Reservation Criteria Revised, How to Update Reservation Category – News18

Aspirants are required to submit their CLAT 2024 application form through the official website of the Consortium of National Law Universities at consortiumofnlus.ac.in

A new addition to the reservation category for National Law Universities (NLUs) has been introduced by the Consortium of National Law Universities. As per the official notification, National Law University, Tripura, has been included in the domicile reservation category. It is further to be noted that the consortium has also issued instructions to update the reservation category for candidates who have chosen NLU Tripura. Moreover, they are also advised to go through the NLUT, Agartala updated information brochure on the official website.

Aspirants are required to submit their CLAT 2024 application form through the official website of the Consortium of National Law Universities at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The last to submit the application form is November 3. However, the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is slated to be held on December 3.

The official notification read, “For the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes, a ‘Domicile Reservation’ category has been added. Candidates domiciled in the state of Tripura are eligible for consideration in this reservation category. Eligible candidates may update their details on the CLAT Portal.”

CLAT 2024: HOW TO UPDATE RESERVATION CATEGORY

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Consortium Of National Law Universities at consortiumofnlus.ac.in

Step 2: Then, log in to your CLAT candidate account

Step 3: On the homepage, click on the option that says, “Edit application”

Step 4: Now, go to the reservation tab under National Law University Tripura (NLUT), Agartala, for the question, “Are you a domicile of Tripura?”

Step 5: Answer Yes and select the Reservation Category you want to claim from the drop-down menu given

Step 6: Select the reservation category you want to claim from the given drop-down menu

Step 7: Hit submit to save your changes

The Bar Council of India (BCI) will be conducting CLAT 2024 in multiple regional languages. The BCI has filed an affidavit on a PIL seeking the CLAT 2024 be held in all regional languages listed in the Constitution’s Eighth Schedule, and not just in English. BCI has said that this arrangement amongst the NLUs has no statutory recognition and that it is the “sole interested statutory body in the field of legal education” but is given no role or supervision in the said admission test.
