Middle East conflict live updates: U.S. expected to veto U.N. resolution on Gaza cease-fire, hostage releases


The United States plans to veto an Arab-sponsored resolution that calls for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza and the release of all hostages, in a U.N. Security Council vote set for Tuesday. The United States has circulated a draft resolution calling for support of a six-week pause in fighting and the phased release of hostages, including what it calls a “temporary ceasefire,” in a future vote.
