HYDERABAD: StateStreet, one of America’s oldest financial institutions and among the largest asset management companies in the world with over $40 trillion under management, is all set to make Hyderabad its second largest base after headquarters Boston.
Announcing this late on Tuesday night, Telangana IT & industries minister KT Rama Rao, who is currently on a whirlwind business tour of the United States, tweeted that StateStreet is expanding big in Hyderabad by adding 5,000 new jobs.
“Good news from Boston. Big Boost to Hyderabad’s BFSI (Banking, financial services & insurance) sector. Hyderabad now becomes the second largest presence for StateStreet after its Boston Headquarters. So proud!!,” KTR tweeted from Boston where he met the financial giant’s top honchos on Tuesday.
KTR said not only is StateStreet hiring for some exciting jobs under AI augmentation, Data Analytics and emerging technologies, it is also housing global roles for accounting, HR and other functions in Hyderabad.
StateStreet, which is the second oldest financial institution of America that was set up in 1792, had set up shop in Hyderabad towards the end of 2017 after having set up a presence in Bengaluru and Mumbai and had kicked off its Hyderabad presence with the acquisition of a 2.3 lakh sq ft space in the heart of Hyderabad’s IT hub – Hitech City.
