The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has released the notification for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2024. The registration process begins today, December 14, and will go on till January 2. Interested and eligible candidates can register for the exam on the official website at bsebstet.com.
The Bihar STET is held in the computer-based test (CBT) mode for 2 hours and 30 minutes. The exam consists of a total of 150 marks and does not consist of any negative marking for any incorrect answer. The exam date for 2024 will be announced by BSEB soon.
Bihar STET 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Applicants must hold a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or a B.Ed along with graduation or post-graduation.
Age Limit: The minimum age should be 18 years. General candidates must not be more than 37 years old, general category female candidates must be within 40 years of age, SC, ST male and female candidates must be within 42 years, and BC, and EBC applicants must be within 40 years old.

Step 2 – Click on the application link on the homepage
Step 3 – Register yourself
Step 4 – Fill in the form with the required credentials
Step 5 – Pay the application fees
Step 6 – Submit
Step 7 – Save and download acknowledgment for further use.
Bihar STET 2024: Application fees
As per the official notice, candidates belonging to general, EWS, OBC, and BC categories will have to Rs 960 for one paper. Candidates who want to take both BSEB STET 2024 papers will have to pay Rs 1,440. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the application fee is Rs 760 for one paper and Rs 1,140 for both papers.
The exam is held every year to determine the eligibility of teachers at secondary and higher secondary levels. Candidates willing to apply for secondary-level teaching positions can apply for paper 1 and those who want to apply for higher secondary-level teaching positions can apply for paper 2. Candidates can register for any one or both papers.
The Bihar STET has only been held three times in the last 13 years. It was first conducted in 2011. After that, the exam was scheduled for 2019, but due to a paper leak, it was cancelled and rescheduled for 2020. In 2023, the BSEB STET was held for the third time between September 4 and September 15 in two sessions. BSEB STET will be conducted two times in 2024.
