CIL Recruitment 2023: Based on the GATE-2023 scores and specific requirements, candidates will be shortlisted discipline-wise and category-wise, with a ratio of 1:3 in order of merit, for further stages of the selection process
Coal India Limited has invited applications for Management Trainee positions. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and are interested can submit their applications online through the official Coal India Limited website at coalindia.in. This recruitment drive aims to fill 560 positions within the organisation. The registration process commenced on September 13 and will conclude on October 12. It is important to note that the selection for these positions will be based on the GATE 2023 score.
According to the official notice, candidates may be assigned postings in various subsidiary companies, including coalfield areas. Applicants should be willing to serve anywhere in India. While candidates are allowed to indicate three preferences for posting, the final posting will be determined based on vacancy availability, and the decision of CIL Management in this regard will be considered final and binding.

CIL Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
Education qualification
Mining: Candidates must have a degree in Mining Engineering with a minimum of 60 per cent marks.
Civil: Candidates should possess a degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 60 per cent marks.
Geology: Candidates must hold an M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics, or Applied Geophysics with a minimum of 60 per cent marks.
Age limit:Â The upper age limit for general (UR) and EWS category candidates is 30 years as of August 31, 2023. But there are certain relaxations applicable for candidates belonging to other categories.
CIL Recruitment 2023: Steps to Apply
Step 1: Go to the official website of Coal India Limited at coalindia.in.
Step 2: Under the latest news section, click on ‘Recruitment of Management Trainees on the Basis of GATE-2023 Score.’
Step 3: A new window will open where candidates will have to click on ‘Online Login Portal for Filling Application Form.’
Step 4: Now, fill out the application form and attach all the required documents.
Step 5: Pay the CIL recruitment application fee and submit the form.
Step 6: Download the confirmation page, if required.
CIL Recruitment 2023: Application Fees
General, OBC and EWS category candidates are required to pay Rs. 1000 along with applicable GST, totaling Rs. 1180. While SC, ST, PwBD, and employees of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries are exempt from paying any application fees.
CIL Recruitment 2023: Selection Process
To be eligible, candidates are required to have participated in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2023). Based on the GATE-2023 scores and specific requirements, candidates will be shortlisted discipline-wise and category-wise, with a ratio of 1:3 in order of merit, for further stages of the selection process. The final merit list for each discipline will be compiled based on GATE scores.
