Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan recently launched an international students conference in Thiruvananthapuram’s Kanakakunnu palace. The summit was attended by 162 students from 42 different countries studying at various educational institutions affiliated with Kerala University. The summit was part of the Keraleeyam project.

“As you all have probably already experienced, Kerala’s peaceful and secular environment, the hospitality of our people, and the state’s natural beauty are its hallmarks. You may also know that Kerala is at par with several developed countries in multiple human development indices. The Kerala model of development which enabled such feats, is a term that has been acknowledged around the world,” Chief Minister Vijayan said as quoted by news agency ANI.

Kerala has evolved into a modern society that is a shining example of progressive ethos, communal harmony, and peaceful coexistence over the course of the last 200 years thanks to the combined efforts of our renaissance movements, progressive forces, labour advances, farmer struggles, and progressive governments, the Kerala CM added. However, we acknowledge that we still need to improve our reputation in a number of industries, Chief Minister Vijayan noted.

What Is Keraleeyam?

The annual Keraleeyam festival aims to showcase Kerala’s top-notch attributes to the world community. Keraleeyam is a yearly event which is held to honour that particular year. This year, Keraleeyam will set out on a thorough quest to reveal the incredible journey of Kerala’s progress and triumphs over the previous several decades from November 1 to November 7.

The Keraleeyam project will include talks about Kerala’s accomplishments, the difficulties it faces in several areas, and its possibilities for the future. Furthermore, the exhibitions showcasing the state’s special resources, cultural legacy, agro-industrial advancements, and technical innovations will also be hosted. This programme provides a forum for disseminating Kerala’s development paradigms throughout the globe and absorbing fresh concepts from the international academic community.

According to Manorama, from November 1 to 7, Thiruvananthapuram City will host 24 international seminars at seven different locations. The agenda for the next 25 years in Kerala’s development and the policies that need to be implemented will be covered at these conferences.

Along the length from Vellayambalam to East Fort (Kizhakkekotta), an exhibition highlighting Kerala’s modernism and tradition will be built. The development-focused lectures will be led by internationally renowned experts. In addition, all the leading Keralaites from across the globe will be invited and honoured at the events. All the representatives of the people from the panchayat level will also be hosted in the capital city.
