Vinod Sharma was posted at Balaini police station in Baghpat.
Vinod Kumar Sharma was working in Samsung three years ago for a salary of Rs 94,000 before he joined the UP Police.
A police officer from Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh has resigned from his job for not getting enough leave and his story is now going viral on social media. Notably, the sub-inspector (SI) had joined Uttar Pradesh Police after quitting a lucrative job at a multinational company.
According to reports, Police SI Vinod Kumar Sharma, who was posted in Baghpat district, resigned from his job for not being able to give time to his family.
Sharma was posted at the Balaini police station in Baghpat. Before joining UP Police, he was working with Samsung at a salary of Rs 94,000 per month. But, his dream was to do something good for society. When the recruitment of police SI started, he filled out the form, passed the exam and made it to the final selection.
Sharma had joined the police job with great enthusiasm. But soon, his illusion came to an end. Pressure from officers, extended work hours, and then not being able to get leave for a month, finally made him resign from his job. His patience ran out, and he considered it more appropriate to give time to his family. He finally submitted his resignation to his seniors.
Recently, in an interview, Vinod Sharma said that, in the rush to meet the family as soon as they leave, most of the policemen are becoming victims of road accidents. Vinod says that the passion and enthusiasm with which he came to this position soon shattered. His morals were down due to the pressure from the officers, uncertain duty hours, accountability, and even not getting leave for the family. Ultimately, he considered it appropriate to give importance to the family between the family and the police.
However, Baghpat SP Arpit Vijayvargiya said in a media interaction, “There is not so much pressure here. Everyone gets leave. There is a personal reason behind his resignation.”
Reports suggest the salary of a sub-inspector in the UP Police ranges between Rs 24,000 and Rs 80,400 and the maximum salary can go up to around Rs 80,000.
