5 worst foods to avoid for breakfast, reveals Dr Shriram Nene – Times of India

First of all, white bread is made from refined wheat flour, which has been stripped of the bran and germ. This process removes many essential nutrients, including fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Also, white bread is said to have a high glycemic index (GI), meaning it can cause rapid spikes in blood sugar levels. This can lead to a quick energy boost followed by a crash, causing fatigue and hunger soon after eating. Also, white bread is often high in calories and low in essential nutrients, leading to “empty calorie” consumption. This can contribute to overeating and weight gain.

Sugary Cereals
While many of us think that cereals make for a healthy breakfast, the reality is sugary cereals can cause rapid spikes in blood sugar levels, leading to a quick energy boost followed by a crash. This can result in fatigue and increased hunger shortly after eating. Also, regular consumption of high amounts of sugar can contribute to insulin resistance, increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes over time.

Fruit Juice
As per experts, fruit juices make your blood glucose levels rise faster than whole fruits. Also, they are devoid of all fibre content found in the fruit, and when it is consumed in breakfast, sugar in the form of fructose in fruits can cause an overload on your liver. And when it comes to packaged juices, they are even worse as they are high in artificial sugar and preservatives adding no value to your meal.
Processed Meat
As per reports, processed meat is said to be high in saturated fats and cholesterol and can lead to increased levels of LDL cholesterol, which is associated with a higher risk of heart disease and stroke. Also, they are said to be high insodium content, preservatives and additives.
