“While there have been reports of new COVID variants, the COVID symptoms have been the same more or less recently with no new symptoms to watch out for the general public,” says Dr Grover.
“But there has been a rise in the number of flu cases due to seasonal changes which have caused a state of panic due to the symptoms being similar to COVID. Thus, it is still important for the general public to stay vigilant and protect themselves by following the COVID preventive measures like masking, washing hands frequently, and limiting traveling when sick,” he advises.
“After exposure to the virus, COVID-19 symptoms usually appear within a range of 2 to 14 days, whereas flu symptoms can manifest as early as 1 day or up to 4 days later,” the expert says in view of prevalence of both viral infections.
