Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is opening up about how his bad form had been unfair to his superstar wife, Anushka Sharma. The batsman, in an interview with Cric Info, shared that he had been cranky and snappy during his bad spell in sports.
“I was not able to perform because of my desires. I realized that I needed to be true about my game. If I was the worst player, I needed to accept it,” Kohli shared. “I was cranky and snappy, and that wasn’t good for my wife, Anushka Sharma and other family members. So I had to take responsibility and put things into perspective.”
The return in form gave him a very important lesson. “I returned to the Asia Cup 2022 with a very relaxed mind and started enjoying my batting. So if there is desperation, take a step back instead of going behind your goal, as it will go further away from you.”
Sharma has been through thick and thin with the cricketer’s glittering career. Last year in October, she took to social media and praised Kohli’s stellar inning that propelled India to win a thrilling match against Pakistan. Taking to her Instagram handle Sharma shared an appreciation post for Kohli along with images while watching the game saying, “You beauty!! You freaking beauty!! You have brought so much joy into people’s lives tonight and that too on the eve of Diwali! You are a wonderful wonderful man, my love. Your grit, determination and belief are mind-boggling!”
She went on to add, “I have just watched the best match of my life I can say and although our daughter is too small to understand why her mother was dancing around and screaming wildly in the room, one day she will understand that her dad played his best innings that night which followed after a phase that was tough on him but he came out of it stronger and wiser than ever before!”
Adding how proud she is of her star husband, the Band Bajaa Baraat actor shared, “Your strength is contagious and you, my love, are limitless! Love you forever and through thick and thin.”
