As Mother’s Day rolls around this year, Pakistani celebrities are taking to social media and sharing heartfelt tributes, showcasing their appreciation for the influential women in their lives. From actors to models and musicians, the occasion has become a platform to express gratitude, honour and love for maternal resilience.
One trending theme among celebrities’ social media posts is the power of family bonds, with many sharing intimate moments and memories with their mothers. Actor and philanthropist Nadia Jamil penned a touching letter expressing her admiration for her mother. In her IG post, she shared a video montage of pictures with her beloved mom set to the emotional Bollywood tune of Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai.
In the post’s caption, she reflected on the strength and courage her mother instilled in her. “Happy Mother’s Day to my rock, where my strength began from, where my life began from,” she joyously expressed. “My friend, confidant, the most generous, forgiving, loving woman I know, one of the most, beyond beautiful women to have lived on this planet.”
She furthered on, “I love you Ma. Here’s to healing and learning and unlearning and to the adventure of life still left for us to enjoy together. With Aba, Baba Zain, Nana, Nani, Puchi Khala, all watching us. Please say a prayer for the health and happiness of my best friend… my Ma.”
Meanwhile, music icon Faisal Kapadia took to Instagram to celebrate Mother’s Day with a sweet carousel post. One picture depicts him as a child in his mother’s embrace while another shows his wife Seema, standing alongside their two sons, Armaan and Gibran. “Happy Mother’s Day!” Faisal wrote in the caption.
Singer Zoe Viccaji marked the occasion by sharing an adorable picture with her daughter. Amping up the festive note, the duo sported matching butterfly-themed face paints and smiled right into the camera. “Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there,” Zoe said in a small note.
Jumping on the dedicated Mother’s Day post bandwagon, Shaniera Akram offered an affectionate snapshot of maternal love through the generations. Posting pictures with her husband and former cricketer Waseem Akram and their three children, Shaniera beamed, “My children are what makes my life full. I am blessed to have these three.”
She added, “Happy Mother’s Day to all the mummas, step mummas, grandmums, new baby mummas, mother in laws and the ones who remain in our hearts.” Whether it’s a comforting embrace after a long day or a reassuring word during challenging times, mothers continuously demonstrate their selflessness and compassion. So, while Mother’s Day serves as a special occasion to express gratitude, let’s remember to honour and appreciate mothers every day for the invaluable roles they play in our lives.
