Panipuri boasts countless fans worldwide, often serving as a highlight of the weekend for many. This beloved street food is a staple in North India.

While variations abound, Jai Santaji Panipuri in Jalna city stands out for its unique appeal. Kashinath Wamanrao Gawli has been serving his renowned panipuri at his stall for the past 18 years, consistently drawing large crowds of eager food enthusiasts.

After 4 pm, the residents of Jalna begin to move towards Jai Santaji Panipuri Centre. Kashinath Wamanrao Gawli established his modest panipuri enterprise in Jalna city 18 years ago. Initially, he operated as a street vendor, selling panipuri on foot.

Initially earning a mere Rs 200 to Rs 250 rupees after a long day of peddling, his dedication to his craft and unwavering work ethic propelled him forward. Gawli constantly adapted his panipuri recipe to cater to his customers’ evolving tastes. Today, his commitment has yielded impressive results, with his panipuri business generating a daily income of Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000, he shared.

The delicious puri, made at home from semolina and moong dal, is the foundation of this popular street food. The spicy and sweet water, infused with authentic spices like cumin, coriander, mint, and shahajeera, is a major draw for foodies. Gawli attributes his loyal customer base to several factors: the use of RO filtered water for the panipuri, the stall’s cleanliness, and his friendly service.

Residents of Bhagyanagar, Dev Murti, Moti Bagh, Railway Station, and Mama Chowk in Jalna city frequent this establishment for its panipuri. Additionally, people visiting the city from surrounding villages for work often make it a point to stop by and enjoy the panipuri before returning home. The popularity of Kashinath Gawli’s panipuri is such that he receives orders worth Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 lakh during the wedding season.

“I have been in this business for the last 18 years, building strong relationships with my customers along the way. Providing high-quality food is paramount to gaining their trust. And when it comes to my panipuri, well, ‘the customers tell it through their mouths’ how good it is. Selling each plate at Rs 15, I am able to earn a comfortable profit of Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 per day,” Kashinath Gawli shared.

One of the customers at his stall, Kailas Mohite said, “We have come here from the village of Moti Gavan to eat panipuri. The taste of this panipuri and the water is delicious. Therefore, after coming to Jalna city for work, we definitely eat panipuri here.”
