Ajmal seeks time to mold Pakistan’s spin attack

The newly appointed spin bowling coach for Pakistan, Saeed Ajmal, has expressed his commitment to transform the national teams spin attack but emphasized that the process would require time and dedication.

Ajmal’s first task in this role includes the Test series against Australia scheduled from 14 December 2023 to 7 January 2024 and the T20I series against New Zealand from 12 to 21 January 2024.

“I will try to meet the expectations of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) by working hard and utilizing all my experience. But this will be a time-consuming process,” Saeed Ajmal said in an interview.

“The spinners are less likely to succeed in Australian conditions,” he added.

The 46-year-old also expressed his support for the two spinners selected for the upcoming Australia tour, citing their impressive performances in domestic cricket.

“Noman Ali and Abrar Ahmed have been selected for the Australia tour and are performing well in the domestic circuit,” he concluded.
