Asia Cup broadcaster removes Dhawan’s ‘don’t lose to Pakistan’ video

The video featuring Shikhar Dhawan, the Indian opener, discussing the upcoming 2023 Asia Cup has been taken down by the broadcaster from their social media handles.

In the video, Dhawan, who is set to be a part of the Asia Cup event as an expert commentator, shared his thoughts on the much-anticipated India vs. Pakistan clash.

The 56-second clip, initially shared on Monday but later removed from social media, provided viewers with a glimpse into the fervor of the India-Pakistan rivalry as seen through Dhawan’s perspective.

In the video captioned, “Experience the intensity of the ultimate rivalry, India vs. Pakistan, as witnessed by @SDhawan25. See what he had to say!” Dhawan spoke about the upcoming clash between Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, and India, scheduled to take place in Kandy on September 2.

“It has always been the case of ‘Whether or not you win the World Cup, don’t lose to Pakistan’ (laughs). But winning the World Cup is also important and by god’s grace hopefully we will. There’s definitely excitement (while playing Pakistan) but also a lot of pressure. There’s definitely a satisfying feeling playing against them when the match ends. Whenever I have played Pakistan, we have won mostly. The intensity on the field is also high, but there’s also some light chat with them.” he said.

Despite the insightful and engaging content of the video, the broadcaster decided to remove it from their Twitter handle at a later time.

The exact reason for this removal remains unknown. Nonetheless, the brief clip provided fans with a glimpse of Dhawan’s perspective on the upcoming Asia Cup and the historic India-Pakistan rivalry that continues to captivate cricket enthusiasts around the world.
