Former England and World Cup 2019 winning captain, Eoin Morgan, has revealed his top-four teams that he believes have the best chance to win the ICC World Cup 2023 scheduled in October-November in India.
Speaking to WION, Morgan believes that India, England, Australia, and Pakistan are the primary contenders for the prestigious trophy.
Previously, former Australian legend pacer, Glenn McGrath had also revealed his top four teams for the aforementioned tournament in India later this year.
In an interview with The Times of India (TOI), McGrath expressed his unsurprising inclusion of Australia in the elite quartet.
“You wouldn’t be surprised that I’m putting Australia in that four. Obviously, India is playing in their own conditions. England is playing some great cricket and Pakistan is also playing fine. So, they are the best four,” McGrath said.
The ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to begin in India on October 5, featuring ten teams. The highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, initially scheduled on October 15, is likely to be rescheduled to October 14 due to Navratri celebrations.
The highly anticipated tournament will showcase thrilling matches among ten top-class teams, starting with an electrifying opening encounter between the finalists of the previous edition, England and New Zealand.
