Former officials challenge PCB chairman election process, new BoG in court

The former members of the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) Management Committee, Shakil Sheikh and Gul Zada, have taken their grievances to court, challenging the new PCB Governing Board and the upcoming election for the PCB Chairman. The initial hearing for both cases is scheduled to take place on Monday at the Lahore High Court.

The election for the PCB Chairman is slated to occur on Tuesday, June 27, at the PCB headquarters in Lahore. However, the legal challenges brought forth by Shakil Sheikh and Gul Zada could potentially disrupt the election process and delay the appointment of a new chairman.

Former chief of the PCB Management Committee, Najam Sethi, recently announced his withdrawal from the race for PCB Chairman. This decision has shifted the focus onto the former PCB chairman, Zaka Ashraf, who is now considered the frontrunner for the position. Ashraf previously served as the chairman of the PCB and appears to be favored by many to assume the role once again.

Nevertheless, it appears that Zaka Ashraf may face several obstacles before he can officially take charge as the PCB Chairman. The court cases filed by Shakil Sheikh and Gul Zada against the new PCB Governing Board and the election process could potentially create complications and uncertainty surrounding the appointment.
