Imam jumps to third spot, Rauf achieves career-best rating in ICC ODI rankings

Imam-ul-Haq has jumped to third spot in ICC ODI rankings with a 94-ball 61 against Afghanistan in the first ODI in Hambantota.

Babar (880 rating points) leads South Africa hard-hitter Rassie van der Dussen (777), with Imam (752) closing in on second place following his 17th half-century in international ODI cricket.

He moved past Fakhar Zaman, who dropped down to fifth spot, after only two runs in the aforementioned game. Babar Azam is still at top of the chart but lost six ratings points after being dismissed for a duck.

India’s Shubman Gill (743 rating points) is in fourth spot ahead of fifth-placed Fakhar while Pakistan teammate Mohammad Rizwan moves up three places to 58th on the list for batters following his innings of 21 against Afghanistan.

Fiery pacer Haris Rauf led a pace assault on Afghanistan with a career-best five-wicket haul to give Pakistan a thumping 142-run victory in the first ODI.

Rauf’s shattering 5-18 in 6.2 overs forced Afghanistan to their second-lowest ODI totals of 59 in a staggering 19.2 overs, which has helped the pacer move seven places to 36th spot in ODI bowler rankings and achieve his highest rating points to date (522).

Rauf’s previous best of 4-65 was against England at Birmingham in 2021.
