Husband-Wife Quarrel Lands Bangkok-Bound Lufthansa Flight In Delhi, Man Offloaded

Lufthansa Airlines have informed that after the Bangkok-bound flight was diverted to Delhi, the “unruly passenger” of German nationality has been offloaded in the national capital on Wednesday. A Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) official said that the airline is coordinating with the German Embassy regarding the passenger. This comes after the Bangkok-bound flight from Munich was diverted to Delhi on Wednesday due to unruly passenger behaviour. According to the Lufthansa version, there was one “unruly passenger” of German nationality. He has been offloaded and he has apologised.

“Decision whether to hand over to enforcement agencies in India or to consider the apology and return him to Germany is still pending,” a DGCA official told ANI.

The airlines also said that the flight is ready for pushback after cooling off of tyres for Bangkok.

“Aircraft is ready for push back any time soon after cooling off of tyres for Bangkok,” the official added.

Earlier, sources had told ANI that the decision to divert the flight came after the cabin crew reported “disruptive conduct on board, specifically a dispute between a husband and wife”.

“The reason for the fight between husband and wife is not known yet but the flight had to be diverted due to the fight between husband and wife,” aviation security of Delhi airport told ANI.

The flight initially sought permission to land at Pakistan’s nearly airport, but for undisclosed reasons, that request was not fulfilled.

Consequently, the flight safely landed at Delhi Airport, where the unruly male passenger was offloaded and handed over to airport security.

Wagner boss Prigozhin listed in Russian plane crash with no survivors – SUCH TV

Russia’s most powerful mercenary Yevgeny Prigozhin was on board a plane which crashed on Wednesday evening north of Moscow with no survivors, the Russian authorities said, two months to the day after he led an abortive mutiny against the army top brass.

According to international media reports, a Telegram channel linked to Wagner, Grey Zone, pronounced him dead, however, and hailed him as a hero and a patriot who it said had died at the hands of unidentified people it called “traitors to Russia.”

Amid fevered speculation and an absence of verifiable facts, some of his supporters pointed the finger of blame at the Russian state, others at Ukraine which was due to mark its Independence Day on Thursday.

Others who have opposed President Vladimir Putin or his interests have also died under unclear circumstances or come close to death, including outspoken political leaders and journalists.

A building housing Wagner’s offices in St Petersburg lit up its windows after dark in such a way as to display a giant cross in a mark of respect and mourning. Flowers were left and candles lit near the offices early on Thursday.

  • MakeMyTrip Launches New Feature To Look For Most Economical Flight Airfare

MakeMyTrip Launches New Feature To Look For Most Economical Flight Airfare

MakeMyTrip has launched a new feature ‘Incredible India Incredible Prices’ offering results based on the most economical airfare to multiple destinations within India from the city for the next six months. One can filter the most economical flight, according to the month of travel and theme-based travel categories such as – Adventure, Heritage, Religious, Romantic, Wildlife, Beach, Hills & Mountains, Honeymoon, etc. As per MMT, the ‘Incredible India Incredible Prices’ feature is also catalysing a behaviour shift in the advance purchase patterns for flight bookers in the leisure category.

A report by MMT shows that more than 60% of consumers exploring destinations in India book tickets at least 30 days in advance as opposed to less than 30% on the regular flight listings funnel thereby benefitting from cheaper fares. The feature also highlights the top things to do in each destination, thereby offering a 360-degree view to the traveller about varied destinations in just a few clicks.

According to data, leisure segment bookers take almost twice the number of searches to book their flights compared to the business segment. This indicates that flight bookers sift through prices for multiple destinations in various combinations before finally making their final pick of leisure travel reservations. From a research standpoint, this takes time and mental bandwidth before fully firming up a trip.

Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder & Group CEO, MakeMyTrip, added – “The new feature has been developed from a user lens and attempts to fuel interest in the hidden gems of India by offering results based on price, timeline, and the theme of travel. The early results are encouraging as we have observed 2.5 times increases in searches for leisure destinations on the Incredible India funnel as compared to the regular flight funnel.”

MakeMyTrip is a leading third party ticketing platform with access to all major domestic full-service and low-cost airlines operating in India and all major airlines operating to and from India.

    The order comprises 20 787 and 10 777X wide-body aircraft, along with 190 B737 MAX narrow-body aircraft

Air India on Tuesday finalised a historic order for up to 290 Boeing aircraft at the Paris Air Show, following IndiGo’s announcement of the largest-ever aircraft purchases by an airline, with an order of 500 narrow-body planes from Airbus.

During the Paris Air Show, a signing ceremony took place to commemorate the momentous acquisition of Boeing’s top-notch single-aisle and widebody jets, marking a significant milestone in the fleet renewal and expansion of Air India, the official statement read.

The order comprises 20 787 and 10 777X wide-body aircraft, along with 190 B737 MAX narrow-body aircraft. Additionally, options for 70 more aircraft are included in the deal.

“The order, which includes 190 737 MAXs, 20 787 Dreamliners and 10 777X jets with options for 50 737 MAXs and 20 787 Dreamliners, is Boeing’s largest order in South Asia and highlights its 90-year partnership with Air India,” according to the official statement by Boeing.

It further said Air India aims to achieve sustainable growth and effectively expand its operations in the rapidly developing aviation market of South Asia. As per projections, the region is anticipated to witness a significant surge in its in-service fleet, increasing from 700 to 2,300 airplanes over the next two decades to meet the growing passenger demand.

The decision to choose these models aligns with Air India’s strategy for sustainable growth, as announced by the companies in February.

The development came a day after IndiGo placed a multi-billion dollar deal to buy 500 narrow-body planes, making it the largest-ever aircraft order placed by any airline with Airbus.

IndiGo stated in a release that the recent order will ensure a consistent flow of deliveries for the airline from 2030 to 2035. Presently, IndiGo operates a fleet of over 300 aircraft, with pending deliveries for its existing order of 480 aircraft.

    IndiGo’s order includes a combination of A320NEO, A321NEO, and A321XLR aircraft.

This agreement follows Air India’s order placement for 470 aircraft with Airbus and Boeing, which occurred less than five months ago.
