Former chairman of ISRO and the brain behind NEP, Dr K Kasturirangan was admitted to Narayanaya Health City, Bengaluru on Monday evening after he suffered a heart attack while in Sri Lanka.
“Preliminary investigations are ongoing and he is closely being monitored and treated by a multidisciplinary team of doctors,” states a media bulletin issued by the hospital.
Kasturirangan, 83, was airlifted to Bengaluru.
A Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awardee, Kasturirangan was also the former chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University as well as the Central University of Rajasthan and NIIT university. He is currently the chairman of the new education policy draft committee.
