Canada’s allegations against India did not come as surprise: Pakistan – SUCH TV

Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Syrus Qazi said that Canada’s allegations of India being involved in the killing of a Sikh leader did not come as a surprise, since it had engaged in sabotage activities in Pakistan.

Speaking to the media at Pakistan’s mission to the United Nations, Qazi said if Canada’s prime minister had allege India’s involvement in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the claim could not be unfounded.

He added that the the statement was hardly surprising since India had been involved in trying to create instability in Pakistan. He also mentioned that Pakistan had a serving officer from the Indian navy in custody over allegations of espionage and sabotage.

Qazi said that if any country in the world knew India best, it was Pakistan.

The foreign secretary also confirmed that caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar would raise the issue of Kashmir in his speech before the UN general assembly.

He also said that the UN secretary general routinely holds a reception for world leaders and Kakar would participate in a reception held by US President Joe Biden as well.

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau had the House of Commons in an emergency session that his government was looking into credible allegations that the Indian government was involved in the assassination of a sikh leader in Canada. He has also raised the matter with the top leaders of US and UK.
