White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan is expected to meet leaders of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank on Friday, after talking with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The war will stretch on for “more than several months,” Gallant told Sullivan, who conveyed the Biden administration’s goal of lowering the intensity of Israeli military operations in Gaza so that civilian casualties can be reduced.
