Gagnesh Kumar, Son of Watchman, Becomes Lieutenant In The Indian Army – News18


Gagnesh Kumar and 47 other soldiers completed the passing out parade.

Gagnesh Kumar completed his education at Government Secondary School, Paddal Mandi, and Arya Samaj School, Mandi.

Gagnesh Kumar, hailing from the village of Kothi Gehri Rewalsar in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, has attained the rank of lieutenant in the Indian Army. A lieutenant is the starting commissioned officer rank in the Indian Army, appointed as a gazetted official of the Government of India.

His father, Baldev Singh, is employed as a watchman in the Himachal Pradesh Sports and Youth Services Department. Gagnesh took part in the passing out parade with 47 fellow soldiers at the Army Medical Corps Training Center in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, this Tuesday. His father, Baldev Singh, who works in the sports department, and his mother, Indira Devi, a homemaker, proudly marked the occasion by placing a badge on his shoulder.

Baldev Singh, Gagnesh Kumar’s father, specially travelled from Mandi to attend the ceremony at the training centre of the Army Medical Corps in Lucknow. He mentioned that Gagnesh had previously served as a clerk in the army and had been commissioned as a lieutenant in the Indian Army. Interestingly, his second son is also employed as a clerk in the army. The family takes pride in the achievements of both their sons in the military.

Gagnesh Kumar and 47 other soldiers completed the passing out parade. Before joining the army, he excelled as a badminton player at various levels. His father, Baldev Singh, worked as a daily wage labourer for 28 years before becoming a watchman. With limited resources, Baldev Singh worked hard to secure army positions for both of his children. His one son has even attained the rank of a lieutenant in the Indian army.

Gagnesh completed his education at Government Secondary School, Paddal Mandi, and Arya Samaj School, Mandi. Ganesh credits his achievements to his parents and teachers.

Passing out parade is the formal graduation ceremony for military or uniformed service personnel after completing a course at their training school, college, or military academy, primarily in Commonwealth nations. Participants, such as soldiers, sailors, or airmen, engage in a military parade after finishing a basic training course.
