NVS Admission 2024: The selection of candidates for class 9 and 11 will be determined by their performance in the JNV Lateral Entry Selection Test
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) will conclude the application process for lateral entry admissions to classes 9 and 11 in the 2024-25 academic year on October 31. Aspiring students can submit their applications for JNV Class 9 and 11 lateral entry online through navodaya.gov.in. The selection of candidates will be determined by their performance in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST). The Lateral Entry Selection Test for classes 9 and 11 is scheduled to take place on February 10, 2024.
NVS Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications: To be eligible for admission to Class 11 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV), candidates must have successfully passed the Class 10 examination from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)-affiliated schools, state boards, or other recognized boards during the 2023-24 academic session.
For admission to Class 9, eligibility is restricted to students who are bona fide residents and are currently enrolled in Class 8 at one of the Government/Government-recognized schools within the district where a JNV is established.
Age Requirements: Concerning age criteria, candidates applying for admission to Class 11 should be a minimum of 15 years old and must not exceed 17 years in age, meaning they should have been born between June 1, 2007, and July 31, 2009.
For NVS Class 9 admission, candidates’ birth dates should fall between May 1, 2009, and July 31, 2011.
NVS Admission 2024: Steps to Register
Step 1: Navigate to the official website of NVS, navodaya.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on JNV Class IX or XI Admission 2024 link that is available on the homepage.
Step 3: A new page will appear where you have to click on the registration option.
Step 4: Next, register yourself by entering all the asked information.
Step 5: Log in using credentials and fill out the details mentioned in the online application form.
Step 6: Pay the application fee, check the details added, and submit the online application form.
Step 7: If needed, download the NVS application form and keep it for your reference.
Previously, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) administered lateral entry admissions for Class 9. However, a significant development now includes lateral entry admissions for Class 11 students as well. The official notice stated, “In connection with Lateral Entry admission in class XI against vacant seats in JNVs, a decision is taken to conduct a selection test from the session 2023-24 onwards, as in the case of Lateral Entry Admission in Class IX.” For all the latest updates, candidates are encouraged to visit the official website of NVS at navodaya.gov.in.
